Riding Class News

August 1st, 2010

School Year Riding Class Schedule: These classes are from the Second half of August through May with riding classes suspended in December, January, and February. Students must commit to lessons during this entire time. Time slots for lessons will be carried over from the fall schedule into the spring schedule. The riding class rate is $80 a month for students who are taking part in school year lessons. Students must have participated in summer lessons or previous lessons in order to participate. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday after school hours. (see posted schedule or call for more specific openings)

Academic Class Schedule: Students wishing to further their equestrian education during the months that are too cold for Riding Class can take part in the academic classes during December, January, and February. There will be limited time slots available, but riding class size can be slightly larger because no horses are involved (other than for some demonstrations). During this time students will learn how to keep a record book of horse care and a riding schedule. They will also learn about how to care for horses, the science behind riding, diseases and illnesses of the horse, and many more aspects that will help make the rider a more well rounded equestrian.  The academic class rate is $75 a month. Classes are offered Thursdays and Saturdays. (see posted schedule or call for more specific openenings)

Summer Riding Class Schedule: These lessons take place during June and July. Students taking school year lessons have priorty for scheduling. Returning summer students will be scheduled second. New students will be scheduled third. We do keep a waiting list and work hard to get wait students placed as soon as possible. The first time student rate is $100 a month. The returning student rate is $100 a month. The rate for private lessons (as opposed to riding classes) is $150 a month, but is extremely limited in an effort to accomodate all of our riders.

Students that take lessons year round (including academic classes) pay a rate of $75 a month.

Leasing News

May 18th, 2009

We have several horse with lease options available at Dream Catcher Farm. At this time we are only taking lease riders who have previously taken lessons at the farm and are committed to an annual lease.

All lease riders benefit from being part of a structured lease progam. Lease times are scheduled so that multiple riders are able to ride together and bond about a common interest. One of the farm instructors will be out riding with the lease riders most days. The lease programs are set up in conjunction with various educational opportunities to make the horseback riding experience more holistic.
